After her clarinet performance in the Lichfield Music Festival in November, Sixth Former Katie Edwards was chosen to represent Lichfield St Chad in the Rotary Club Young Musician District Competition held in Stourbridge.

Katie performed all three movements of Arnold Clark’s Sonatina, competing against the Rotary Clubs of Stourbridge, Solihull and  Rugby.

Katie attracted high praise and Sam Eillicott, who works with the school as a key figure in the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad, said: “My congratulations to Katie for her excellent performance on last Sunday afternoon. She did extremely well despite a high standard of performance by all the entrants. I hope she finds the experience valuable in her future as an instrumentalist. She certainly did Lichfield proud!”

Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “We are hugely proud of Katie and can only admire her musicianship and talent. It is fantastic that she has represented our city and we are thrilled it went so well.”
