Y10 students attracted high praise from the Bridge Builders team who came in to provide interview experience for every Y10 student.
Volunteers – co-ordinated by Rick Hill – came in for two sessions and interviewed over 190 students and the interviewees’ feedback was very wholly positive:
- “It influenced me to think about my use of skills in interviews. Body language, being confident, eye contact and friendliness.”
- “It made me understand what an interview would be like when I would apply for a job.”
- “Prepared me for what to expect in a real interview and made me feel confident and reassured.”
Rick Hill, Bridge Builders Co-Ordinator, said: “It was a real pleasure to see the students leave the 6th Form Centre with smiles on their faces after they had been interviewed by you; very much a change from the slightly nervous faces at the start! The organisation at the school was second to none. I know we all felt welcomed and appreciated.”
Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, added: “The Bridge Builder provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience the nerves and pressures of a job interview and to consider how they can best present themselves to a prospective employer. The sessions are fantastic and we are extremely grateful to all the professionals who came in and supported the event.”
