Zagham Farhan, Member of Youth Parliament for Staffordshire, met with the Friary Student Council this week to talk about his role, his experience of speaking in the House of Commons, and discussed the priorities for the young people of Staffordshire with the Council members.
The conversation turned to shared issues including the negative impact of losing the YourStaffordshire card and the Student Council were keen to ask him for how they might campaign to save the scheme.
Zagham is up for re-election; the Student Council were certainly impressed with his knowledge and enthusiasm, and would endorse his re-election so he can continue to be a voice for the area.
Mark Drury, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We were keen for our Student Council to see that their voice connects to the county, regional and national level and this meeting with Zagham was a great opportunity to draw out these connections.”
