As part of our KS3 Interventions programme, a group of Year 7s stayed on for an after-school booster designed to encourage their language skills and use practical and fun activities to communicate vocabulary, dialogue and grammar.
The activities involved dressing up, twister and card games and students rotated around the French teachers who delivered their specific session.
Jason Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “For many of our students French is a compulsory element of their GCSEs, so for us it is vital that their interest and enthusiasm is developed and maintained through Key Stage Three (Years 7-9). The session saw lots of fun and laughter, but also the serious business of acquiring a foreign language which will mark the child out as an academic high-flier in later life.”
