There is a fostering crisis across the country and in Staffordshire there are currently over 1,100 children in care – a rise of 8% in the last year. Fostering teams in our local area need your help – to the tune of another 60 new fostering households in the next year.
This January the Staffordshire Fostering Team are looking for people with a spare room who can care for children either just one weekend a month or on a full-time basis. There is a dedicated webpage with full details: care4child.org/spareroom.
If you feel you can help then you can also get involved via Facebook.com/staffsfosterandadopt or on Twitter at @sccfoster_adopt.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “Our school has a substantial number of Looked After Children, amongst the very highest in Staffordshire, so any support that local families can offer would be a wonderful gesture. Whatever the circumstances, these are fantastic children who we are proud to have with us, and they deserve all the opportunities afforded to every child.”
