As a warm up in preparation for their tournament next week the U14 girls team pencilled in a friendly against their local rivals Denstone College.

Initially the girls had an established and strong team but unfortunately a number of last minute drop outs saw the team depleted. Denstone, who turned up with a team of 14, used this to their advantage and pressured the Friary defence on a number of occasions scoring 4 goals in the first half.

Despite the score line the Friary battled through and from the second half whistle made some awesome breaks down the wing seeing Emily Beddow take on the goalie to only be denied and the shot be pushed wide.

This gave the girls confidence to keep pressing and had a number of chances and short corners but their fitness started to tire.

Ms Fallows awarded Harriet Hill-Breese player of the match due to her outstanding contribution and battling in defence and Lily Sperryn was awarded the player of the match by the opposition for her unbelievable dodges keeping the score line under double figures.
