Parents of older students will be well aware of our extensive after-school booster programme and our popular Saturday School sessions which attract well over 100 students each weekend as the final exams loom.

Even so, as we continue to improve our school, we are now looking to get our younger students to attend specialist sessions to prep them for Year 10-Year 11 exams. We firmly believe that motivation and good habits play a huge part in success and these routines need to be embedded as early as possible.

Last week saw our first session where Grade 8+ English students from Year 9 were invited to attend an after-school masterclass to make sure they develop the skill sets to match the superb results from last summer.

Jason Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We are very much a school which is always looking to improve and give our students the best possible opportunities out there. These sessions – which will target all abilities – show we do not rest on our laurels, we do not simply let a child slip through the net, and that we are not a ‘normal’ provider. We encourage every Year 7-9 parent to adjust their schedule to get their child involved and those in the more senior years can rest assured that we will continue to go the extra mile for them.”
