Our FIFA tournament, running alongside the lesser event currently taking place in Russia, brought a grand final between Denmark and Argentina, with all teachers teams having been knocked out in the earlier rounds.
In a tight, tense affair, Denmark scored a late winner to defeat Argentina 3-2. The winning team was made up of Jack Pallatina, Callum Gallagher, George Riley and Tearne Palmer.
Ian Rose, Deputy Headteacher, said: “The tournament is run in each of the major football championships to help us all to buy into the excitement of the event and the final was a superb match. Now we just want to see England get there and run out winners like Denmark.”
