The Y7 Rounders team played fantastically well last night when coming second in the district championship. They lost in the final by just half a rounder and were only fractionally away from snatching an outright win.
They came in to their own in the semi-final and final and played exceptionally well. The Y7 team have been great during the whole season, have been consistently coming to training after school and have won most of the previous matches. Indeed, there has been an exceptionally high turnout and two strong siders could have been fielded.
The team consisted of Amelie Menaut (captain for the tournament) Ffion Wynne, Elli Delaney, Helena Sixsmith, Maisy Tovey-Nesbitt, Ellie Jones, Emily Beddow, Lily Sperryn, Abbie Pendlebury, Izzy Aldridge and Harriet Hill-Breese. A special mention to Helena Sixsmith who has not previously played a school match before but who is player of the tournament.
Trudy Simkiss, team coach said: “The girls did the school proud and I know they have every chance of going one step further next year.”
