Wildfire Folk, a youth folk band from Lichfield, have been selected to take part in the National Music for Youth Festival, having performed at the Staffordshire and Stoke Regional Festival in March.
The National MFY Festival takes place in Birmingham 6th-8th July 2018. Wildfire Folk have been invited to perform two sessions at the CBSO Centre on Friday 6th July, the first session in the morning and the second session in the early evening.
Three members of Wildfire are pupils at The Friary: Tom Hughes (10S1), Sam Hutchison (10J1) and Anneka Horne (9J1).
Jonathan Hood, Head of Music, sad: “This is a wonderful achievement for the band and we are very proud of them. It is a fantastic opportunity and reflects on the hard work and commitment they show at school.”
