The final week of term saw the termly House Celebration Evenings where awards are given out to students for a wide range of successes; it could be attendance or House Points, fundi-raising or academic progress.

There were a number of Easter-themed prizes, but we also benefitted from fantastic local organisations donating prizes to successful students. These included Midland Karting (www.midlandkarting.co.uk) and Boing Zone (www.boingzone.co.uk).

These special assemblies build on other exciting awards through the year that have included free ‘ice-cream van ice-creams’ and Virtual Reality Experiences. The end of the year will see the top students from the winning House – and a smaller group from the other Houses with the most House Points getting an opportunity to have a go on a huge inflatable obstacle course at the school.

Mark Drury, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We have high expectations of our students and so are very keen to come up with rewards that are that little bit different. Sometimes teenagers can be hard to impress but we have been delighted with the responses we have had to the new and imaginative rewards we have put out there this school year. It is important for us that we are that little bit different and that our students know how special they are to us.”
