Following a number of training sessions, our Year 7 girls have formed their hockey team and enjoyed their first mini-tournament against Lichfield Cathedral School.

The girls played fantastically and their pace and wing-play led to a hatful of early goals.

Cathedral then fought back but the Friary girls rejuvenated themselves and for the remainder of the tournament kept up high scoring rate.

The matches saw The Friary score an incredible 17 goals and Player of the Tournament was Emily Beddow who shone with her speed, agility and precision passing.

Kim Fallows, who is running the team, said: “The girls performed superbly well and we are looking forward to their next tournament later this month.”
