Our extra-curricular programme continues to include a wide range of sports, musical clubs, drama clubs and subject sessions but the latest addition really hit the bullseye this week.

Year 7 and Year 8 students took part in Battle Archery sessions as part of a half-termly club and were donned up in full protective kit as they waged war with bows and arrows.

There are 8 more sessions left so we would encourage all students to sign up – though with the library homework club busy every night, exam masterclasses tying into Year 11 Mock exams, rehearsals for ‘My Fair Lady’, and preparations for the Christmas Carol Concert, there is always the chance students will be busy elsewhere.

Oli Forster, Assistant Headteacher, said: “The first session was fantastic and huge fun – we certainly saw the emergence of the next Errol Flynn, Michael Praed, Jason Connery and Kevin Costner. We are always seeking to be creative with our extra-curricular sessions and the battle archery is certainly very different. Even so, the common elements of competition, team-work, energy and enthusiasm were all were to the fore.”
