On Friday 20th October our Parent Teacher Association will be holding our first ever ‘Oktoberfest’ to raise funds for the school.
Last year our PTA worked tirelessly to smash the £10,000 fundraising target set by the then new Headteacher, Matt Allman. This year, they have set their sights high and are embarking on exceeding an even higher target of £15,000!
The ‘Oktoberfest’ is an ambitious new project that promises to be a great deal of fun for those who come along to support it. There will be traditional Bratwurst on the BBQ, real ale for the beer drinkers, Gluhwein to warm your cockles as well as a brilliant Oompah Band who will entertain and get us all singing a long and dancing.
Tickets are £10 each and can be bought from www.friaryshop.com. Ticket price includes live entertainment and food from the BBQ. This will be an undercover outdoor event that will start at 7.30 and finish at 11.30pm. Wrap up warm and bring your friends.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Duke of York in Lichfield for supporting us as well as Lichfield Rugby Club, Worth Brothers Wines Lichfield, Tesco Extra Lichfield and Freedom Brewery.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We are so lucky to have such an enthusiastic and proactive PTA here at The Friary School. Their fundraising efforts really do make a difference, enabling us to improve the resources that directly impact on students. I can’t wait to dust off my lederhosen and join in the festivities this Friday night!”
Please note: This event is strictly for over 18s
