The Y7 DT assignment on ‘Mechanisms’ has produced some superb pop-up books which use a range of techniques to bring the research books to life. The photographed example – by Charlotte Hurley – was one of several that reached an exceptionally high standard.
It is these early design projects that lead students onto GCSE and Technical courses and then step forward to be the engineers and designers of the future.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “It is also a delight to drop in and see excellent work but pop-up books that have open-mouthed great white sharks jumping out at you as you turn the page are a particular surprise. The groups on this project have done extremely well and the DT results for Summer 2021 look like they will be brilliant.”
