Hot Chocolate with the Head - 16/10/26
Hot Chocolate with the Head returned this week with double nominations, given there was no award last week, with Mr Drury being on his way to Paris with the Year 11 trip.
Miss Wright, Johnson's Head of House, nominated Iris A (Year 7) and Owain P (Year 8). Iris has made 'a fantastic start to secondary school' with over 400 House Points, as well as getting 'stuck into all school has to offer outside of the classroom', including hockey and netball. Similarly, Owain has made a hugely positive start to his year and currently tops the leaderboard for House Points in Johnson House. Miss Wright noted that Owain 'is a wonderful student and role model to others who works incredibly hard in lessons'.
Beatrice W (Year 8) was nominated from Garrick House by Mrs Radford, who noted her 'fantastic contribution to her form group's assembly'. Describing Beatrice as an 'exceptional Garrick student', Mrs Radford said Beatrice 'spoke with incredible confidence' in the assembly and 'delivered her lines with great enthusiasm'. The Head of Garrick House also wished to acknowledge Noah M (Year 8) for 'his dedication to school life', given he is 'always willing to get involved and confidently shows great resilience in anything he attempts'. Like Beatrice, Noah also contributed with confidence in this week's assembly.
Darwin's Head of House, Mr Britton, and Student Support Officer, Mrs Evans, chose to nominate Nolan B (Year 9) for 'trying really hard in his lessons' this week. Mrs Evans noted she was 'really proud of Nolan' for this achievement. Similarly, the Darwin House team also wished to recognise Mace A (Year 9) for 'consistent hard work and effort' in his lessons, noting they were 'very proud of Mace and his achievements and resilience'.
Mr Sleigh's nomination from Seward House was Evie T (Year 8). Evie impressed her form tutor, Mrs Jones, and Mr Sleigh 'with her outstanding FRIARY presentation on resilience'. This showed her peers 'how important it is to overcome any challenge'.
Mr Drury, Headteacher, said: "It was lovely to see a bumper crop of students being recognised by their House Teams for their hard work, getting involved in school life and their resilience'.
