Darwin make a big difference
Darwin House has once again demonstrated the incredible compassion, generosity, and community spirit of its students through its ongoing support of the charity ‘Home Run Hounds’.
Earlier this term, members of the Home Run Hounds team visited the Darwin House Student Leadership Team to learn more about the fundraising efforts that took place during last year's House Week. During their visit, the students proudly presented the charity with a cheque for just over £1,000, money that had been raised through a range of activities organised and led by Darwin House students throughout the previous academic year. The donation will help Home Run Hounds continue its fantastic work and rehoming greyhound racing dogs.
The presentation was a proud moment for everyone involved and highlighted the positive impact that young people can have when they work together to support causes, they care about. The students represented Darwin House exceptionally well, demonstrating maturity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping others.
The partnership between Darwin House and Home Run Hounds does not end there. Plans are already underway for another exciting fundraising campaign, with students preparing to raise money for the charity once again during their House Week in February 2027. The Student Leadership Team is eager to build on last year's success and continue making a difference to the lives of rescue dogs.
Mr Britton, Head of Darwin House, said:
"I am incredibly proud of our students and the commitment they have shown to supporting such a worthwhile cause. Presenting over £1,000 to Home Run Hounds was a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the dedication, teamwork, and kindness shown by our students. We look forward to working with the charity again and raising even more money during our House Week in February 2027."
