This year, Darwin House came together for an extraordinary Charity Week, coinciding with World Food Week, to support local animal charities close to our heart. These causes work tirelessly to care for and re-home abandoned and neglected dogs, and our students were determined to make a difference.

The week was bursting with energy and packed with exciting activities that brought the school community together. From raffles and quizzes to cake sales, movie nights, and other competitions, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Each event was thoughtfully organised by Darwin House students, who showed remarkable leadership, creativity, and compassion throughout.

Their efforts paid off in the most inspiring way: students raised a substantial amount of dog food and treats to support the charity’s vital work. These contributions will go directly to local animal charities, helping ensure more dogs receive the love and care they deserve.

There was huge participation in the events – from the students who led the charge, to the families who donated, and the wider school community who joined in with enthusiasm. This support made all the difference.

Alex Britton, Head of Darwin House, said: “As a teacher, I couldn’t be prouder of how the students pulled together and made such a meaningful impact. The teamwork, creativity, and compassion they displayed throughout the week were nothing short of inspiring.”
