Our Year 7 boys football team rode out worthy winners in defeating John Taylor Rugeley 11-0 in their first fixture with the school newly opening.
It was a fantastic performance by the boys – with the passing and goals improving through the game. Amidst the goals glut, there was also some excellent defensive work as the John Talyor Rugleey team did have some fine players.
The goal scorers were made up of Alfie Jones x3, Josh Morris x1, Josh Carter x1, Oscar Sheward x2, Kobe McLaughlin x1, Ibi Chisholm x1 and Luke Morris x1.
Jamie Sleigh, team coach, said: “It was hard to pick stand-out performers in what was an all-round team performance so we resorted to a three way split for ‘Player of the Match‘. The plaudits were awarded to Josh Morris, Josh Carter and Kobe Lee McLaughlin as they were all defensively strong, calm on the ball and each got a deserved goal which rounded off a great team win.”
