Alice Kirk, a high-performing Y12 student, has been accepted onto one of the prestigious Sutton Trust Summer School events.
The Sutton Trust is a respected educational charity who commission regular research and influence education policy to support all student in getting the best possible outcomes.
The Summer Schools give specific subject guidance, help support university applications and give a real experience of university life before applications go in. Those students who successfully get onto these programmes are 80% more likely to achieved a 2:1 university degree and are 53% more likely to gain entry to a leading university.
Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We are delighted that Alice has put together such a strong application and gained entry to the excellent Summer School programme. We are committed to providing access to all sorts of opportunities for our students and now we look to go again and help more Friary students into this programme.”
