Last week saw 60 Y11 students complete the OFQUAL National Reference Test.
Each year OFQUAL take a sample of students to test so it will show, over time, if there are any change in how students perform at a national level. Exam boards currently have limited evidence of how performance can change from year to year, so the test has the potential to provide valuable additional information to inform their awarding of GCSEs.
Oli Forster, Assistant Headteacher, said: “The external organisers were glowing in their praise for our students. The tests are compulsory for schools to engage with and it is a real credit to our students that they took on this burden without complaint and gave it their all. It is a busy and pressurised time but they were not found wanting.”
