The Y8 Girls’ Hockey teams have continued their great record of success after winning yet another competition victory.
The girls performed superbly from the off and racked up seven goals in defeating King Edwards, Kingsmead and Erasmus Darwin.
The final was fought between ourselves and Lichfield Cathedral School and the skill levels of our girls even drew praise from the umpires.
Elsewhere, Friary B put up a great display in League 2, losing out by only a single goal. The team had a mix of Year 7 and Year 8 girls and stand-out performances on their debuts came in the form of the exceptional defensive skills of Scarlett Tiffin-McGuirk and the speedy runs of Georgina O’Donnell.
We also saw the Friary B team put up a good fight in League 2, losing by only one goal. For a team who has only just started to play together you put on an excellent hockey display with some exceptional defensive skills from Year 7 students and speedy runs from both making their debut to the Year 8 team.
The Players of the Match Awards went to Evie Armstrong and Scarlett Tiffin-McGuirk. Next up is the Country Tournament at Denstone.
