Last year, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme saw 10 of our students successfully achieve their prestigious Gold Awards, alongside another 15 successfully gaining their Bronze Awards.
This term sees the weekly training sessions continuing for the 55 Y10-Y13 students who are working towards their Silver Award as they build towards their practice expedition between 31st March – 2nd April.
They are currently developing their map reading skills, planning their expedition routes, learning how to put up tents and cook on trangias, and working on First Aid skills in order to deal with any emergency situations which may arise.
The formally assessed expedition takes place between 5th – 7th May before the formal presentations on 16th – 17th May.
