This term has seen the introduction of student-led assemblies – looking to combine teacher-led messages with students informing and inspiring their peers.

Last week saw a wide range of themes with one of the highlights seeing the form leading a presentation on Human Rights.

The assembly included ‘War Child’ Music, a presentation, and t-shirts designed to communicate key messages and slogans.

Increasing student awareness of worldwide issues and debates – and in this case appreciating the freedoms and support children have in our country compared to elsewhere in the world – is an important part of The Friary’s wider curriculum provision.

Early next term students will lead assemblies on mental health, anti-extremism, dealing with death / loss and gangs.
