On Tuesday 8th November the Friary fielded two 7-a-side teams for the local tournament due to such high interest of hockey within the school – with two teams also coming from EDA and a Bishop Vesey team.
Friary A & B both performed superbly well with Harry O’Donnell, Charlie Allarton and Jake Davis-Allsop amongst the goals.
Overall, Friary A finished 1st and Friary B finished 4th – both cheered on by Mrs Fallows, Mr Hickman and a loyal group of parents.

U13 Boys Hockey Tournament
On Tuesday 8th November the Friary fielded two 7 aside teams for the local tournament due to such high interest of hockey within the school. In total there were matches against the Friary B team, EDA who played two teams and Bishop Vesey. From the start Friary A put pressure on Friary B making some strong runs through the middle and into the D for Harry Crocker (who was making his debut as a year 7 into the year 8 team) to be denied by the keeper. Following a long corner routine Friary A found themselves in their attacking D with Harry O’Donell scoring his first goal of the tournament. This didn’t mean Friary B stopped play, they continued to apply defensive pressure on the forwards and forced the ball out of the D on many occasions to the frustration of Charlie Allarton. With determination though Charlie Allarton soon scored his first goal followed by a lovely set play from Ed Patstone to then see Harry O’Donell receive the ball and score his second goal finishing the game 3-0. During the remainder of the competition Friary A continued to be strong drawing their match against Bishop Vesey but winning their final games against EDA putting them top of the tournament. Overall Friary A finished 1st and Friary B finished 4th. Friary B saw Jake Davis-Allsop getting onto the score sheet with two excellent goals. Well done to both teams and thank you to Lichfield Hockey Club for hosting the tournament. Thanks must also go to Mrs Fallows and Mr Hickman for their coaching expertise and to all the parents who supported the boys.
