french-exchange-programmeYear 9 and Year 10 students have signed up for The Friary’s French Exchange Programme which is led by Mrs Welch, and is run alongside the Staffordshire Limousin Programme – www.staffordshire-limousin-experience.org.uk.

The programme sees two 10 day placements – one at Easter and one in July – and sees Friary students pair up with counterparts from Limousin schools.

The Limousin region of France is situated in the centre of the country, and with Limoges as its capital, has an internationally renowned pottery industry, just like our native Staffordshire.

Jason Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We are very proud of our exchange programme and well understand that the best way to develop foreign language skills, and develop a wider appreciation of the world around us, is to throw yourself into it. This is the spirit that encapsulates our French exchange and, whatever the decision on Brexit, our students benefit from knowing their way around the wider world.”
