year-7-dedication-serviceOur annual Year 7 Dedication Service was staged at Lichfield Cathedral and gave students, staff and parents an opportunity to give thanks for the smooth transition and wonderful opportunities available for all those connected with The Friary School.

The event saw Cathedral ministers and the Headteacher make speeches of thanks, the school choir had the chance to exhibit their talents, and the school band performed a serious of instrumentals to showcase their talents too.

The event was staged by Mrs Male (Year 6 & 7 Achievement Co-Ordinator) and Mr Purkiss (Director of Music) but the real stars were the Year 7 students who conducted themselves immaculately throughout. They proved themselves again as a real source of pride for staff and parents alike.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We are very blessed to be able to stage this event at the cathedral and it reflects on how fortunate we are as a city to have such a celebrated and historic setting, and one that positions itself at the heart of our community. The Year 6 into Year 7 switch is a real milestone in life so the chance to reflect on this together is a welcome one for us all.”
